Chicago company files class action lawsuit over medical records costs

By Celeste Bott (February 28, 2022, 6:49 PM EST) — Chicago personal injury firm Gordon & Centracchio LLC filed class action lawsuits Friday in Illinois state court against two information companies about healthcare that she said overcharged patients, practitioners and lawyers for copies of medical records.

In its complaints against Midwest Medical Records Association Inc. and Ciox Health, the company says the two entities — which contract with healthcare providers to store and manage medical records and provide copies to purchasers upon request — charge too much for processing these requests.
