HE Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Dhawyani, Chairman of the National Archives and Records Authority said, “Archive management is an important aspect of any organization due to its contribution to the organization of information and to its effective recovery. Oman Air has been attentive to this by setting up a department dedicated to the management of files and by recruiting a specialist to supervise its functions. HE Al-Dhawyani added that “the adoption of a classification system and records retention schedules aims to enable these units and departments to circulate records, limit their duration, easily retrieve them and facilitate day-to-day and ongoing workflow transactions.Furthermore, the system facilitates the identification of all important files and records to be transferred into the national memory regarding what has been accomplished in the field of aviation and its business operations. By adopting this system, the number of institutions that have completed the process has reached 89.”

Eng. Abdulaziz Al Raisi, Managing Director of Oman Air, said: “We are honored that HE Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Dhawyani has officially endorsed Oman Air’s Records Management Manual. The outstanding work done by the National Records and Archives Authority reflects a remarkable commitment to guiding organizations like ours in implementing effective records management processes. The knowledge and expertise they shared with Oman Air proved instrumental in the success of the manual by our document management unit. Maintaining national archives of essential documents is a fundamental pillar of effective governance that serves both present and future generations. Oman Air is extremely proud to enrich the national memory of Oman with records in the field of aviation.
