Oman Air received approval of its Records Management Manual during an official signing by the Chairman of National Records and Archives, Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Dhawyani, and Oman Air’s Managing Director, Abdulaziz Al Raisi .
The manual was signed at Oman Air Headquarters and is the culmination of a year-long commitment by Oman Air’s Records Management Department.
Dr. Al-Dhawyani said, “Records management is an important aspect of any organization because of its contribution to organizing information and retrieving it efficiently. Oman Air has been attentive to this by setting up a department dedicated to the management of files and by recruiting a specialist to supervise its functions.
He added, “The adoption of a classification system and records retention schedules is intended to enable these units and departments to circulate records, limit their duration, easily retrieve them and facilitate day-to-day transactions. and workflow continuity.
“Furthermore, the system facilitates the identification of all important files and records to be transferred into the national memory regarding what has been accomplished in the field of aviation and its business operations. By adopting this system, the number of institutions that have completed the process has reached 89.”
Abdulaziz Al Raisi said, “The exceptional work carried out by the National Records and Archives Authority reflects a remarkable commitment to guiding organizations such as ours in implementing effective records management processes.
“The knowledge and expertise they shared with Oman Air was instrumental in the success of the manual by our records management unit. Maintaining national archives of essential documents is a fundamental pillar of effective governance that serves both present and future generations.
