Paisley cops request information on building site fire

Cops are asking for information following a deliberate fire at a construction site in Paisley this morning.

Police and emergency services were called to the Blackstoun Road site in Ferguslie Park at 2.30am this morning.

Scottish Fire and Rescue attended the blaze and put it out, which police believe was deliberate.

There was no one on the site at the time, but some damage was done. Detectives assess the site to find out the cost of the damage.

Detective Constable Martyn Renfrew, of Paisley CID, said: ‘Our investigations into the incident are ongoing and anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area in the early hours of Sunday April 10 is asked to contact us. .

“If you were driving and have a dash cam that could meet our demands, I also invite you to contact us.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting reference number 0540 of Sunday April 10, 2022.

“Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 111 555, where anonymity can be maintained.”
