AUSTIN, TX – The University of Texas men’s basketball team will host the UTRGV at the historic Gregory Gymnasium on Saturday, Nov. 26 as part of the Leon Black Classic. This year’s Throwback Game will be an event for season ticket holders and UT students.
This year’s contest will feature a 3,500-seat capacity at Gregory Gym. UT Athletics will sell 3,000 tickets to season ticket holders and reserve the rest for UT students. Courtside Club members, Establishment Club members and Moody Center Suite holders will have priority to purchase reserved seats. Details on purchases and ticket limits will be available at a later date.
Tickets will cost $10 per person and go on sale Monday, October 17. Eligible groups will be contacted at that time.
This will be the second straight season the Longhorns have played a regular season contest at Gregory Gym. Last year, UT played its first regular season game at Gregory since the 1976-77 season and won 73-57 over Sam Houston.
Gregory Gym, located in the heart of the UT campus, served as Texas Basketball’s headquarters from the 1930-31 season through the 1976-77 season. The Longhorns won a 34-33 victory over North Texas on December 5, 1930 in the first men’s basketball contest played inside Gregory Gym. Including last year’s win over Sam Houston, UT compiled a 384-160 (.706) overall record at Gregory. Gregory Gym still serves as the home court for Texas Volleyball.
