Antioch Police provide information on 8 recent arrests

On Wednesday, the Antioch Police Department released a series of recent arrests. In total, summaries of 8 incidents since July 30.

According to the police, in the past week, 8 arrests have been made with 4 illegal firearms recovered, 4 stolen vehicles recovered which have been returned to their rightful owners, as well as several arrest warrants.

LOCATION: Dr. Sycamore
ARRESTED: Therel Scott (05/31/79)

SYNOPSIS:

Officers responded to the Sycamore Dr area for a report of a practice shoot. The VIC said his apartment and vehicle were hit by gunfire and the unknown culprit fled. As officers investigated the incident, Sycamore Square security said he was the victim of a gun being brandished. The suspect’s description matched the shooting suspect and a vehicle license plate was obtained. The suspect vehicle was on a nearby street and the driver, Therel Scott, was detained without incident.

A loaded 9mm pistol was located between the driver’s seat and the center console. Officers were able to develop enough evidence to charge Scott with the shooting as well as the brandishing. Scott was found guilty and prohibited from possessing the firearm located in his vehicle. Scott was later booked at MDF.

ARRESTED: Tayshaun Scott-Hunter (08/23/2003)

SYNOPSIS: Officer Mulholland has located a gold Honda sedan that had been reported stolen. The vehicle was taken after a theft in Oakland. Constable Mulholland attempted a traffic stop, but the driver fled. The driver immediately got on the westbound SR-4 and the chase ended when the Honda brushed a utility vehicle. This sent the Honda into a spin and it collided with a K-rail. The Honda came to a stop after the impact and the driver, Tayshaun Scott-Hunter, was arrested without further incident.

Constable Morris called the victim and discovered that his keys, wallet and mobile phone had been stolen from him when the vehicle was taken away. During a search incident to the arrest, Scott-Hunter was found to be in possession of the victim’s keys. He was eventually booked at the MDF for the charges listed above after medical clearance.

ARRESTED: Josue Torres (12/17/75)

SYNOPSIS:

Officers were driving on Sycamore Drive looking for a stolen Mercedes SUV. The vehicle was found parked at 7-11 on Century Blvd and the driver, Josue Torres, was arrested without incident. Torres was found to be on AB109 for weapons charges and was later booked at MDF.

SYNOPSIS:

Constable Nutt conducted a traffic check and the passenger, Terry Robinson, was found to have a warrant for his arrest in connection with a shooting in Santa Cruz. Robinson was detained without incident. Robinson has been booked at the MDF on his current term.

SYNOPSIS:

Danville PD sent a BOLO for an armed robbery vehicle in which a Rolex was stolen from a subject at gunpoint in their town. The suspects were reportedly armed with an AR-15 rifle and a pistol. Shortly after, they requested Code 3 coverage for their undercover detectives who were following the suspect vehicle into the apartment complex at 2005 San Jose Drive. Several APD officers were responding to a call on San Jose Drive and arrived within seconds and located the vehicle inside the compound. Two passengers were released on bail but the driver was arrested without incident. The AR-15 and gun were in the back seat of the suspect vehicle. The front passenger was arrested by APD officers after a short foot chase inside the complex. Star 3 was overhead and kept sight of the third suspect as he ran south across the field and onto Buchanan Rd. He was stopped by APD officers and a K9 from Contra Costa County and was arrested after a brief struggle.

SYNOPSIS: Officer Angelini saw an occupied stolen vehicle park in the 19th hole parking lot. He made a stop and took the driver, Justin Griffin, into custody without incident.

ARRESTED: Terry Ferguson 04/16/1985
OTHER INVOLVED: N/A

SYNOPSIS: Several SWAT officers were on foot patrol downtown and noticed Terry Ferguson working on a vehicle out front on J Street. They knew Ferguson from a previous SWAT operation in which Ferguson was arrested for fabricating of weapons. A records check showed that Ferguson had an outstanding PRCS violation warrant. Ferguson was contacted and attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended and taken into custody without incident. A PRCS search was conducted of Ferguson’s apartment and a loaded Sig Sauer 9mm pistol was located in a backpack belonging to Ferguson. Ferguson was later booked at the MDF.

ARRESTED: Richard Lewis, 08/22/1991
VICTIM: Resident of Antioch
OTHER INVOLVED: N/A

SYNOPSIS: Officers responded to a report of a vehicle theft that just occurred. The victim caught the suspect (later identified as Richard Lewis) stealing his vehicle. Lewis failed to steal the car and fled on foot. Officers quickly arrived and established a perimeter. Eventually, Officer Pedreira located Lewis hiding behind a large bush and was taken into custody. Lewis was positively identified as the responsible during an on-field presentation. It was reserved for MDF.
