Citrus Information Officer at CGA-GDC

  • Communication with producers, industry and value chain actors to help define data requirements aligned with key performance indicators of development and transformation programs, initiatives and projects: production / operational measures / management / financial within the citrus industry as a whole (it is important to understand how to drive a processing program in line with business practices)
  • Develop efficient and effective processes and data structures to support accurate and credible monitoring and evaluation across multiple programs, initiatives and projects
  • Work closely with regional office staff to help producers and value chain partners understand data requirements and the benefit of providing accurate data for monitoring and evaluation
  • Responsibility for ensuring data schedules are defined and adhered to
  • Facilitate discussions regarding data collection requirements and updates, verify data submissions, manage data gaps, collate data sources in the format required for integration into monitoring and reporting tools. ‘Evaluation
  • Extract and assist in reporting on program and project performance from the monitoring and evaluation tool to provide informed feedback to industry and value chain actors
  • Suggest, design, organize and facilitate lesson learning processes and advise on the best possible method of using the information generated (workshops, meetings and other events) aimed at capitalizing on the knowledge used or generated by CGAGDC initiatives. Provide ongoing technical input to the implementation of the above information and knowledge management system.

The Citrus Grower Development Company (CGA-GDC) was formed as a result of several initiatives by the Citrus Growers Association (CGA) to address the challenges and needs of black citrus growers that went beyond training, capacity building and access to technical assistance services. The Grower Development Company is a special purpose vehicle (not-for-profit corporation) that drives transformation within the citrus industry in conjunction with the Citrus Growers Association and related companies and organizations such as the Citrus Academy, CGA Cultivar Company, River Bioscience and the Citrus Research Trust. Its main objective is to provide Black Growers with development support to ensure that their businesses become profitable and financially viable.
