Here’s how to remove your personal information from Google

Every time we go online, our information is reviewed. We’d like to think our information is safe when we log in, but it’s not. Everything you search for, everything you buy, everything you do online, and even check your bank statement and medical records, puts you at risk.

How do scammers get your information and use your personal information?

Scammers can access your information in different ways. even if we find a way to prevent them from sitting down, they always find a way to bypass the security measure.
According to ag.ks.org,

Scammers can steal your identity by obtaining your personal financial information online, at the door or over the phone. What they want are account numbers, passwords, social security numbers, and other confidential information that they can use to plunder your checking account or generate bills on your credit cards.

The scammer will move to virtually every place where you have left your mark. This means that wherever you go, they will follow you, online, trying to access your personal information.

Hacking – the scammer gains access to your information by exploiting security holes in your computer, mobile device or network. Scammers can also get your information when they hack corporate or government accounts.

How to remove your personal information from Google searches

Google’s new policy was first announced in May 2022. Until then, there was no way to delete personal information.

It’s very simple to do, but keep in mind that Google must approve any changes you want to make. So, there may be a waiting period until your changes are approved. It’s not unlike the changes you make to your social media accounts.

Visit Google’s support page, scroll down and click on the “Start removal request” link. By following the prompts, you’ll be able to specify what personal information shows up in search, and you’ll be asked to share a list of relevant search terms, such as your full name, maiden name, and nickname. You will also be able to share additional details before submitting the request.

Once your request has been submitted, you should receive an email from Google confirming receipt of the request. It is not known how long the removal process will take.

In addition to removing all unwanted information from Google searches, remember to never give out your personal information to a stranger or anyone over the phone. And never click on links in emails or text messages. Prevention is better than cure when it comes to your personal and valuable information.
