On Monday, the Louisville Metro Government (LMG) will launch a new open case management system to improve efficiency and consistency in responding to requests for records and other public records.
NextRequest public records management software adds important tools for open records requesters to communicate with LMG’s Open Records staff and track the status of their request. Within Metro Government, NextRequest will streamline the process of collecting records from departments into a single software tool and include features such as automatic due date reminders for departments.
To take full advantage of the new features, Monday requesters will need to create an account and start making requests at https://louisvillemetrogov-ky.nextrequest.com.
The new open case system applies to all LMG entities, including the Louisville Metro Police Department, Ethics Commission and MetroSafe. Metro Council and the Coroner’s Office will also use NextRequest.
Any open file request made before March 22 does not need to be resubmitted. These requests will still be processed.
