McAfee records career high kill total in UT Martin setback

MARTIN, TN — Kinsey McAfee had a career offensive day with 11 kills, but youThe Morehead State volleyball team couldn’t overcome a powerful attack by Skyhawk on Friday on the road losing to UT Martin in three sets (17-25, 19-25, 19-25).

The loss dropped Morehead State’s record to 13-14 overall and 9-7 in OVC action.

How did it happen
SET 1 | The Eagles found themselves in an early deficit, losing a tough first set 25-17. Morehead State trailed by as much as eight points as UT Martin never gave up the lead in a set that was rated twice before the Skyhawks took control.

SET 2 | A 25-19 loss in straight sets put Morehead State behind 2-0 in the match. The Eagles lost the second set despite a strong performance from the attacking side. Morehead State put up a .333 attacking percentage with 15 kills in the set loss.

SET 3 | UT Martin finished the sweep with a three-set victory. The Eagles fell in a tough 25-19 set. Morehead State trailed by as much as six points as UT Martin took a firm lead at 17-16 in a set that was tied nine times before the Skyhawks took over in the second half of the stanza.
