Patrick Surtain II expects big things from the Denver Broncos defense in the fall.
He was one of six Alabama football alumni taken in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Surtain had an impressive first season in the National Football League, making the Pro Football Writers Association All-Rookie Team. He tied for third in the Denver defense in total tackles (58) and had a team-high 14 pass deflections. Surtain had four passes, including one for a touchdown. He’s thrilled to have Russell Wilson as the Broncos’ starting quarterback, but Surtain also wants to get the better of him at times. He did it in OTAs on Tuesday as Surtain picked Wilson for a touchdown in the first practice game. Several Denver reporters saw the piece and took to Twitter to detail what happened.

The defense went wild.

Surtain earned SEC Defensive Player of the Year, Unanimous All-American, and First-Team All-SEC honors in 2020. As a former five-star in the 2018 class, Surtain earned a College Football Playoff National Championship and three SEC Championships.
He is ready to become one of the best young cornerbacks in the league.
