QIB, in partnership with Visa, breaks its first Guinness World Records title for the largest mosaic of footballs

Doha, Qatar – Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), Qatar’s leading digital bank, has set a new world record in building the world’s largest football (flag) mosaic, housed in the new Doha Festival City arena .

QIB celebrated Qatar’s legacy by establishing a new Guinness World Records™ title on November 19, 2022. To celebrate Qatar’s biggest sporting event and festivities in Doha Festival City, QIB members, friends and partners came together to assemble the largest mosaic of soccer balls (flag) in the world. The flag is 11 meters long and 28 meters wide, made up of over 6,000 brown and white soccer balls to reflect the colors of the flag of Qatar, a symbol of national pride and identity, with deep meaning to the land and its people. The flag was assembled at the new arena in Doha Festival City, where representatives from Guinness World Records™ were on hand to review the attempt and confirm the record.

QIB has been at the forefront of celebrating the nation’s historic sporting event, bringing people together to share in the spirit and excitement of this national celebration.
